More oxygen concentrators arrive in the country from Australia

Additional life-saving equipment including 50 oxygen concentrators arrived in the country from Australia over the weekend to assist with the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 critical care response.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes says more supplies will be arriving in the coming weeks.

279 COVID-19 patients are currently admitted to the hospital.

110 patients are admitted at the Lautoka Hospital, 39 patients at the FEMAT Field Hospital, and 130 are admitted at CWM Hospital, St Giles, and Makoi.

26 patients are considered to be in severe condition and 14 are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation also delivered 85 oxygen concentrators and consumables last week.
